What is Al Basar USA?
Al Basar USA is a U.S. registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to combating preventable blindness and restoring sight for underserved communities through free eye care, sight restoring surgeries, eyeglasses, school vision screening, and medical training.
Where does Al Basar USA operate?
We operate across Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, bringing quality eye care to underserved communities where access to ophthalmic services is limited or unavailable.
What eye conditions do you treat?
Our medical teams diagnose and treat a wide range of eye conditions, including cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, childhood eye diseases, strabismus, refractive errors, corneal disorders, and other causes of preventable blindness.

How patients are chosen, and how we reach the hardest places.
How are patients selected for free treatment?
We work closely with local Ministries of Health, hospitals, and community partners to identify regions with a high burden of preventable blindness and limited access to eye care. Priority is given to patients with the greatest medical and financial need.
How do you ensure your programs reach underserved communities?
Our programs focus on areas where poverty, conflict, displacement, or limited healthcare infrastructure prevent people from accessing essential eye care. Mobile Eye Treatment & Surgery Clinics allow us to reach remote and vulnerable populations.

Your donation is used strictly according to its specified purpose to support people living well below the poverty line. It helps provide free eye examinations, cataract and other sight restoring surgeries, prescription eyeglasses, medications, medical equipment, school vision screening, and other essential eye care services.
