Mobile eye treatment & surgery clinic
When the hospital is too far, the medical team travels.
Since 1989 our medical teams have packed up and gone to villages no eye surgeon reached. Free screening, free surgery, free glasses, and follow up until the eye has healed.
Our impact
The Basics
What is a “Mobile Eye Treatment & Surgery Clinic”?
A Mobile Eye Treatment & Surgery Clinic is a fully-equipped surgical clinic that travels to communities with no access to permanent eye care. We arrive, set up, treat everyone who needs us, and move on to the next location.
- Runs for 7 days at each location
- Performs IOL cataract and corrective surgeries using modern Phacoemulsification technique free of charge
- Provides free vision screenings, glasses, and medications on the spot
- Includes pre-operative assessments and a 4-weeks follow-up program for every surgery
Our Story (1989 → today)
It started with one camp in Hyderabad, 1989.
Our first camp screened 1,563 patients, performed 267 surgeries, and distributed 400 pairs of glasses.
More than three decades later, the principle has not changed. We go where the need is greatest, and we don’t charge a single patient.
We don’t charge a single patient. Not in 1989. Not today.
